#SL12: The
Hindu Kavadi practice includes the piercing of the tongue
and cheeks with long needle-like rods. The devotees
wince in pain as the spike goes through their skin and
flesh, but they soon seem to become accustomed to the
discomfort and proceed with the ongoing rituals.
